About
As the global investment landscape evolves, responsible and impact-driven investing has become a powerful tool for financing sustainable development. With emerging economies undergoing major transitions and seeking capital to accelerate development, demand for investments that create real impact is growing. Sovereign investors, private equity funds, and public finance actors are rethinking how to deploy capital that delivers both financial and development returns. International Financial Institutions (IFIs) are becoming increasingly relevant, particularly through blended finance mechanisms that help mitigate risk and unlock private sector participation. In this context, IPAs play a vital role, not only facilitating capital flows focused on impact but also shaping bankable pipelines, contributing to de-risking projects, and aligning local priorities with global sustainability goals. Organized by UNIDO in collaboration with WAIPA, this High-level Panel explores how diverse mandates are converging around impact investment and SDG strategies. Building on the momentum of the FfD4, it will spotlight emerging trends, practical tools, and partnerships to ensure investments drive both impact and resilient economic growth.
